Let Us Introduce Ourselves

In 1963, Bob Kilbey saw the opportunity for improved quality and comfort in the orthopedic and general hospital market. The company began with innovation and developed the first orthopedic devices incorporating a hook-and-loop closure in wraps and supports.

Our customers valued how “ezy” these wraps were to use and inspired our primary brand known today as Ezy Wrap®. Continuing our success with Ezy Wrap, we have also partnered with other industry innovators such as Graymont X, Sober, and Modicine PatientWear. With over 60 years in the business, we have learned the best ways to continue to grow and better ourselves for our partners and our customers.

All Ezy Wrap, Graymont X, and Modicine PatientWear products are manufactured exclusively at PPI, whose Quality Management System is certified as being in conformity with ISO 13485:2016 by Intertek.

Bob Kilbey was a traveling salesperson of medical products when, in the late 1950s, on the road in his territory in the southeast, he stumbled upon an article in Popular Science. This article outlined an invention called Velcro ©, using hook-and-loop to attach materials temporarily. Bob was selling lift belts and abdominal binders with laces, zippers, and clasps and patented the idea of using hook-and-loop on medical devices.

Bob began showing some of his customers these new wraps that used hook-and-loop, and they loved how easy the wraps were to apply. From that customer feedback, Bob trademarked our flagship brand Ezy Wrap® and formed the company Professional Products, Inc. in 1963. His wife Sue was the first employee and sewed many wraps by hand out of their Airstream trailer.

In 1982, Bryan, Bob's son, joined the company after graduating from Georgia Tech and transformed the company into a modern manufacturing environment by designing and overseeing the construction of, the facilities we still operate today.  Together, the Kilbey’s expanded the company to 5 locations, 35 states, and key international distributors.
